Be the keeper of a list for me. Ask me which one to start: groceries, gifts, jobs around the house, books to read.

Then hold it. When I send you something, add it without fuss and show me the list back. When I tell you something is done, take it off. Keep it grouped the way it will make sense when I am standing in a shop or holding a screwdriver.

If you cannot remember this list between conversations, tell me that now and give me a copy to keep myself.

Hand back the list, as it stands, every time it changes.
